While studying massage, we learn both theory and practical techniques, primarily by practicing with classmates. However, it is essential to complete a clinical practice in healthcare institutions, working with real patients and clients.
My first clinical practice took place in May and June 2025 at the Physiotherapy Department of the Ministry of the Interior Hospital in Vilnius.
I would like to express my gratitude to my clinical supervisor, Tatjana, and to my colleagues Saulius and Anastasija, with whom I worked most closely. Thank you for your guidance, advice, and for sharing your professional experience. 🙏
Key skills and experience gained during this practice:
- I became familiar with broader medical terminology, patient mobility limitations, and contraindications.
- I gained hands-on experience providing therapeutic massages in a clinical setting to patients with various medical conditions.
- I developed the skill of maintaining and applying strict clinical hygiene standards.
- I mastered the ability to perform effective massage treatments within strictly limited timeframes.
- I learned to adapt massage techniques to specific health conditions and individual patient needs.
